Have you heard of Tommy Torres?
If you haven't, you're missing out! He is a multi-talented Grammy Award winner from Puerto Rico.
He has written songs for Alicia Keys, Ricky Martin, among others.
Recently I have fallen in love with his newest single in Spanish, Querido Tommy. It talks about a man named Paco, who's in love and wants Tommy to give him advice through letters written from Santiago, Chile. Paco wants Tommy to tell him the words he should say to her that will make her fall in love with him, words she's never heard before. Then Tommy writes Paco back saying that even though he's not an expert in love, he knows that words cannot replace feelings, and it's best to say your true feelings, saying I love you is just enough. Seriously, how romantic is that!
Anyway, the song is in Spanish, but the lyrics of this song do not really rhyme for the most part, which is strange in Spanish lyrics and makes this song sound more like the letter he's portrayed writing in the song or a poem read out loud. It is simply beautiful and so different from today's music.
Here is the last piece of the song, I love the way words are used!!
Here, check it out, I am sure you're going to fall in love.
