Yay! The Grand Canyon

When I was a little kid, I'd learn about the Seven Natural Wonders of the world, and I'd dream about how one day I'd see my favorite: The Grand Canyon.
I'm so fascinated by its vastness, the way nature took its course and how it took millions of years through erosion to form.
When I was in college, I took a geology class, and I loved the brief lectures we had on the way the Grand Canyon was formed, the types of rocks it was made of, and the flora and fauna that thrived in it and along the Colorado River.
After that class, I added visiting the Grand Canyon to my bucket list!
I lived in New Mexico for so many years, and Arizona is right next to it, and I never even saw it. Till a few weeks ago, I could finally cross "visiting the Grand Canyon" off my bucket list. Even in the middle of January, and covered in snow, it was just breathtaking.

So beautiful

We had to go around that rock to get back to the car...

So we decided to take a hike. On the part of the Grand Canyon that was covered in snow. No big deal. I'm a thrill seeker.
Going down was hard... the slopes on the trails were so narrow and so steep that I could literally just slide down by sitting on my bottom and letting gravity do the work. We got down about 2000 ft at around 2:45pm. It got dark around 5:00pm so we had to head back.
Oh God, oh God! We went back the zigzag trails that were too steep going down, imagine how hard it was going back up! After two trails our lungs were burning and our hearts felt like they were going to pop out of our chests. Suddenly, I didn't feel like a thrill seeker anymore, that was only about twenty feet that we had gone back to the top and we were already dying. We still had to go about 1980ft, not counting the ups and downs on the trails.

Some parts were just too narrow or too steep, and me, being the brave person that I am, decided that walking was too dangerous in some parts, so I crawled. Like a baby. I was going at those icy trails with my knees like there was no tomorrow. Unlucky for me, the snow made sure my knees were numb, so I didn't feel like I was really hitting the rock hard at all. After what seem like an eternity, and the best (worst?) cardio of my life, we finally reached to top. Yay! I felt like I had just conquered the Everest (which, by the way, it's also on my bucket list).

Totally worth it

Needless to say, I ended up with the worst bruises of my life, and I walked like a penguin (and not in a cute way) for the next three days. But I had tons of fun and it's an experience I will never forget!!!

Goody QuikStyle

Product Information:
The GOODY® QUIKSTYLE™ Paddle brush works like a towel and brush in one. The super absorbent (and antimicrobial) microfiber removes 30% of water from wet hair to help speed your drying time! You can effortlessly detangle right out of the shower and continue using it while you blow dry!

My Review:
I was very amazed when I first saw the brush, because it's unlike anything I've seen before.
I've been trying it now for a couple of weeks and I have to say it's... well, different.
I have seen a faster drying time when brushing my hair with this particular brush but I have also noticed that I have more split ends, since I've only been brushing my hair wet for the sole purpose of trying this brush.
The tower parts of the brush get flattened and it's hard to bring them back out because of the plastic bristles.
The design is cute and quirky but there is room for improvement, starting with gentler bristles than do not break hair as much. I do like the idea, it's new and innovative, so I give it a 6/10.
What did you think of your brush?

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

Product Information:
Super glossy, tons of shades, super affordable and available drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide.

My Review:
I love New York Color glosses. I have mine in Nude York shade. It's a glossy nude and lasts for a while before you have to reapply. I love the formula which is non-drying and non-sticky. It is also a plus that it is super affordable and easy to find so when I ran out of this one, I can easily buy a new one. I love my lip gloss!

EBOOST

My Review:
EBOOST is a pretty cool powder that contains a bunch of vitamins and minerals and only 10 calories. Comes in different flavors. I got to try it in acai pomegranate flavor this time (I've also tried the orange flavor). It helps give you energy and boost immunity. The drink is fizzy and smells good. The taste? It's a little overwhelming, but you just add more water and it's perfect!
So, does it work? It totally does! I just recently went on a road trip to CA, and I did a lot of walking. I walked for 8 hours straight at the San Diego Zoo, and I was tired from hiking the Grand Canyon the previous day. Drank my EBOOST and voila, like new! So yeah, it works and I really like it!

- Many different "flavors" to choose from!

My Review:

I got mine from the Holiday VoxBox in Chocolate.

Jeunesse Face Masque

All I can say is OMG! I had never tried this brand of face mask before. When I first opened it, I had to check the packaging twice to make sure I was supposed to put on my face and not eat it! It just smelled so yummy! And the texture was that of chocolate mousse. I seriously had to fight the urge to eat it. Anyway, after putting it the mask on my face for about 20 minutes, I washed it off with warm water easily. I could tell the difference in the texture of my skin right away! It was so soft. I love it! I will definitely be buying more of this in the future. Great stuff, 10/10!

I wanted to eat my face, I swear.

Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal+

Product Information:
- Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal+
- Four flavors: Apple Walnut, Cherry Pistachio, Peach Almond and Summer Berry
- Portable single-serve cups

My Review:
I love oatmeal, specially Quaker's. It has been part of my regular breakfast for years. I just love it!
When I got Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal+ in my Influenster's Holiday VoxBox I was so excited to try it. When I actually opened it, I looked inside the cup and I saw not only oatmeal, but also actual peaches, and almonds! I couldn't wait to try it!

I thought it was so easy to prepare, just put it in the microwave for less than a minute and wait for it to cool down a bit and it's ready to eat! That's what I did. But if you like the more conventional way, then just add boiling water and wait a few minutes to eat. I loved how convenient the little cup was. And well, the oatmeal itself was delicious! The peaches were soft and added that peachy flavor, and the roasted almonds were the perfect touch. The oatmeal itself was sweetened to perfection. There are more flavors, but I think this is my favorite. Needless to say, I ate the whole thing in a matter of minutes! Delicious, healthy and highly recommended!

Kiss Nail Dress

I think I've found a new favorite!
Kiss Nail Dress nail stickers!!

Product Information:
-Nail stickers: just peel, apply, and shape for a manicure that lasts up to a week.
-Nail Dress is available in 21 different styles,
-28 strips in each package

My Review:

I got this design in Influenster's Holiday VoxBox 2012:

The design is beautiful.
Overall, I found the stickers a little hard to apply, but I think it's just a matter of practice. Just place the sticker over the nail, fold over the edge of the nail and file down the remainder. This lasts anywhere from a week to two, so far I've had them for a week and they are still good as new! I've been doing household work with them on, and they just stay put!  Here is a closeup of the design:

Pretty, huh?

I really liked them! I love that the designs are beautiful, and could be used for any occasion. They are super quick to put on, and they last a while, much more than regular nail polish. Overall, I would give this 8/10 and would recommend!
